Del Potro back on track

It’s been a while but having no internet at my daytime job for almost two weeks (thanks a lot once again KPN) and no Macbook at home makes blogging a bit difficult. Since a few days I have a new Macbook and Iphone so I can continue my dream at home. We all know what happened at the Australian open, Novak Djokovic proved once again he is the dominant force at the Australian open and also dominating everyone else on the ATP tour. Angelique Kerber not only surprised me but also Serena WIlliams, winning her first ever grandslam in three very entertaining sets. I wonder if she got extra motivated being the first “picture of the day” on my blog… ah no probably not.

ABN AMRO tennis tournament

Last week I visited the ABN AMRO worldport tournament in my home city of Rotterdam. With my team mates we visited the qualies where we not only watched Gulbis but also watched some upcoming talents like Dutchman Tim van Rijthoven, a very skillfull player, hope he can get us back on track. During the week I watched Monfils, Simon, Coric and some doubles. Overall a nice tournament though everybody was off course waiting for Roger Federer, who unfortunately couldn’t make it beacuse of a knee injury.

Back to South America

Back to this week, the best news was off course the comeback of Juan Martín del Potro who reached the semi finals of Delray Beach and played 4 matches, that’s the same number of matches as in his injury-plagued 2015 season, I really hope he stays healthy because he could mix it up with Djokovic, Murray, Federer and Nadal when he used to be fit. Rafael Nadal still has a big question mark above his head, he reached two consecutive semi-finals but these matches used to be his bread and butter, losing to Thiem is possible but Cuevas… Found two short articels about Del Potro and Nadal, you can read them on the site of the BBC.
